Movie Marathon Fundraiser (26th July)

Starting at 11am on Sunday 26 July, the Chapel off Chapel Theatre in Prahran will play host to 11 hours of Movie Marathon madness. If you’re a fan of The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, E.T. or The Lost Boys, then we have the perfect way for you to spend a Sunday.

Reminisce over 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of these classic films while helping raise funds to support families that have a child living with cancer.

While getting dressed up in fabulous costumes isn’t compulsory, we will be offering some great prizes for best dressed prior to each screening, so GET CREATIVE – witches, tinmen, Oompa Loompas, chocolate bars, aliens, telephones, vampires and frog brothers will all be welcomed with open arms.

To make things easy for you, our lovely friends at Masquerade Costume Hire have generously offered 15% off the hire cost of all outfits for our event. Print this voucher, take it with you and mention the Movie Marathon when you visit the store!

It’s also the ideal day for film diehards to flaunt their knowledge and go into the running to win some top prizes in our quick film quizzes. For the not so diehard, the odd random seat prize will be thrown in as well.

Crowd participation will be encouraged, so if you feel the urge to sing along or click your heels during the Wizard, gorge on chocolate during Willy, phone home during E.T. or perform a bit of air sax through The Lost Boys – no one’s going to stop you…

Visit the Chapel off Chapel website for tickets and session times. We look forward to seeing you there (and if you know one of the uninitiated – someone who hasn’t had the pleasure of seeing one of these greats, do them a favour and bring them along too!).

  • 11.45am – The Wizard of Oz
  • 2.30pm – Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory
  • 5.10pm – E.T.

A big thank you to all of the companies who have offered their incredible support so far:
